Obituary For Alverta J. "Bertie" Coley

Alverta J. “Bertie” Coley, 95, Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
Bertie was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Charles William and Grace Irene (Cummings) McGregor. She married William Henry Coley on May 16, 2003 and he preceded her in death. She was previously married first to Bill Destafano and then to Arthur Rossbach who both preceded her in death.
She is survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Paul, Daniel, Bill and Howard McGregor; sisters: Ella Grace Fry, Dorothy Cruse, Marian McGregor and Louise Windnagle, and nephews: Joe and Bill Huffstickler who were raised in her home.
Bertie was a 1943 graduate of Altoona High School and retired as an assembler at Philips ECG in August 1983 after 38 years of service.
She attended First Baptist Church, Altoona where she helped with AWANA.
Bertie taught Sunday school at Calvary Baptist Church and was an associate member of the Heidelberg County Club.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public funeral services.
Interment will be at Alto Reste Cemetery.
In remembrance of Bertie, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 1209 Seventeenth Street, Altoona, PA 16601.
