Charles P. MirarchiApril 1, 1934 – May 3, 2021Charles P. Mirarchi, 87, Altoona, passed away Monday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Isca Jonio, Calabria, Italy son of the late Frank and Catherine (Portaro) Mirarchi. Charles married Patricia L. Musselman on November 17, 1956. She preceded him in death on December 8, 2000.He is survived by two children: LuAnn Witherow (Dennis) of Altoona and Joseph O. Martino (Patty) of Florida, three grandchildren: Joey, Lee and Max; a sister, Josephine Zaffino of Philadelphia and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by a son, Robert C. Mirarchi; and two sisters: Adeline Varano and Gina LaCroce.Charles was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Shamokin and was a US Army Veteran.He retired as a tool and die maker for Veeder-Root.Charles was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was a member of the Cesare Battisti Club and Catholic War Veterans.Friends will be received from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. James Dugan, Celebrant. Committal will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.The family asks that contributions be made in Charles’ memory to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2716 Broad Ave., Altoona, Pa. 1660.
