Charlott L. Gallagher-Frye

September 29, 1938-August 23, 2024

Our beloved mother, Charlott L. Gallagher-Frye, 85, Chesapeake, VA, formerly of Altoona, went to be with the Lord at her residence, Friday, August 23, 2024. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late William Glenn and Doris Lillian (Newton) Henninger.

Charlott is survived by her four children: Joseph G. Gallagher and wife Linda, Michael E. Gallagher and wife Theresa all of Altoona, Christine E. Wheaton and husband, Steve of Chesapeake, VA and Kathleen M. Gallagher and husband, Scott O’Brien of Overgaard, AZ; five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers: William Glenn Henninger, Jr. of Altoona and Roger Tim Henninger of Duncansville.

She was a 1956 graduate of Altoona High School. Charlott was employed as a salesclerk at G.C. Murphy.

She attended The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Charlott enjoyed sewing and gardening.

Friends will be received from 10 am-noon, Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA, with a funeral service immediately following at noon with Pastor Douglas McGaffin.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in Charlott’s memory to: Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602.
