David L. Bergstein

June 5, 1955-July 1, 2024

David L. Bergstein, 69, Altoona, passed away Monday morning at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Altoona, the son of Joan (Davis) Bergstein and the late Gerald Bergstein.

David married Nancy J. Kilgore on August 23, 1980 and he is survived by her and their two sons: Adam Bergstein of Duncansville and Seth Bergstein (Catherine) of Beaverton, OR; three granddaughters: Leah, Nora and Victoria; his mother, Joan and two brothers: Scott Bergstein (Jessica) of Las Vegas, NV and Keith Bergstein (Rita) of North Huntingdon; a sister-in-law, Janice Bergstein of Greer, SC and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Barry Bergstein.

David was a 1973 graduate of Altoona High School and went on to receive his Associate Degree from Penn State Altoona in 1976. He then went on to become the store manager for Gallenkamp Shoes and had been a salesman for Karp Brothers.

He was a member of the Agudath Achim Congregation.

David enjoyed watching Penn State and Pittsburgh Steeler football, playing the arcade game-Defender, driving his American Rambler car; listening to music and playing his guitar.

A private funeral service was held at the convenience of the family. Interment was held at Agudath Achim Cemetery.
