Obituary For Dolores Jean (Rupert) Snyder

Dolores Jean (Rupert) Snyder Nov. 11, 1933 – June 27, 2022

Dolores Jean (Rupert) Snyder, 88, of Altoona, passed away Monday morning at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. Dolores was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Charles and Thelma Mae (White) Rupert. She married Donald Lee Snyder who preceded her in death in 1993. She is survived by three daughters: Linda Lee (Snyder) Rice and husband Bill of Altoona, Susan (Snyder) Kessling and husband Robert of Flinton, and Sherri Snyder of Altoona; four grandchildren: Michael Kessling, Crystal Sipe, Stephen Westcott and Sara Kennedy; four great-grandchildren: Chloe, Dylan, Alexa and Aubree; several bonus grandchildren; and her long-time companion of 20 years, Daryl Cadle. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Rupert and sister, Sharon Ann Patterson. Dolores was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and companion. She enjoyed belly dancing, art classes, white water rafting, and even took a trip on a hot air balloon when she was younger. She loved to go on cruises, see new sights and take interesting adventures. Dolores loved being part of what she called “The Mail Girls” which was a coffee group that met daily where she lived. She was a free spirit and loved to try new things. Dolores instilled in her daughters that it was all about the love of a family. She was indeed a phenomenal woman. Dolores will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by her loving family and friends. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2022 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, 4771 E. Loop Road, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648. So sorry to hear of her passing. I worked with Delores at Sears in the early 70's. She always had a smile and when she laughed everyone around her laughed. My condolences to all her family and know that Delores was loved by so many. She will be missed. George Hicks

So very sorry to the family for the passing of this wonderful woman. Ma was a treasure to those who knew her, and her adventurous spirit was contagious. She loved her family, so very much. She took on the role of Mom, Aunt, and Grandmother to others around her and never lacked a smile (usually because she was up to something) and words of encouragement. Her light followed her everywhere and made you crave to just be a part of it. We will miss her dearly here on earth but Heaven has gained an Angel and the Stars will shine brighter. I love ya Ma; thank you for being so kind and accepting.

Mom two, I love you. I will miss you very much. Helen misses her best friend, her Tinker Bell. The camping and visits together are fresh and vivid and still being love and laughter. I will always remember how mad you got being dunked at Glendale and the love and hugs on tap. That giggle will be with me always. I love you. You made my best friend and two other woman I love and admire greatly. Enjoy what comes next for you Doloras. Love you, Donna Lyn
