Donald William “Don” Beeney

April 1, 1933 – July 18, 2023

Donald William “Don” Beeney, 90, of Altoona, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona.

Don was born in Newark, OH, son of the late Howard Charles and Maude Lee (Jarvis) Beeney. On October 10, 1959, he married Nancy Lou Peters who preceded him in death on January 27, 2022.

He is survived by a son, David S. Beeney and wife Claudia of Altoona; a grandson, Michael David and wife Lindsey Beeney of Michigan; and great-grandchildren: Madelyn and James.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl H. Beeney and a sister, Dorothy L. Marr.

Don was a 1952 graduate of Miami Senior High School and a 1956 graduate of the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He retired in November 2004 as plant engineer from Fonda Group in Williamsburg with 24 years of service.

Don was formerly a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Altoona.

He enjoyed gardening and sports and was a member of the Institute of Radio Engineers.

Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family.
