Doris J. Brenneman

May 27, 1930-May 3, 2026

Doris J. Brenneman, 95, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Philipsburg, the daughter of the late August and Anna (Zeozeny) Grannis.

On April 14, 1955, she married Richard G. Brenneman, he preceded her in death.

Doris is survived by her two sons: Thomas R. Brenneman (Anita) and Michael C. Brenneman both of Altoona; four grandchildren: Jennifer Murphy, Samantha Brenneman, Thomas R. Brenneman, Jr. and Christine David; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: August Grannis, Jr., Thomas Grannis, Edwin Grannis, John Grannis and Mary Lou Gates.

Doris was a graduate of Philipsburg High School. She retired from Broad Avenue Pharmacy as a Pharmacy clerk.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and sang with the choir.

Doris enjoyed her various card club groups and being a member of the Red Hat Society; but she ultimately, loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 3-6 pm, Friday, May 8, 2026 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 6 pm, with Fr. James Dugan.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
