Doris Marie Sturtsman

Doris Marie Sturtsman, 95, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023, at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

She was born, July 28, 1928, the only child of the late Thomas G. and Dorothy (Fleck) Crain. On September 3, 1949, she married Jay R. Sturtsman, Sr. at the Twenty-Eighth Street Church of the Brethren in Altoona.

A 1946 graduate of Altoona High School, she loved planning her class reunions, and was a Life Member of the Altoona Area High School Alumni Association.

Surviving are her children, Robin Simms (Jeffrey) of Altoona, Thomas (Betsy) of Virginia, her beloved daughter-in-law, Kathleen (Ricchetti) Sturtsman of Harrisburg; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Doris was predeceased by her husband, Jay, Sr., on March 13, 2009; her son, Jay, Jr., on September 6, 2022 of Harrisburg.

Prior to Jay’s passing they enjoyed traveling, several trips to Germany, other countries and cruises.

Per Doris’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
