Obituary For Esther "Sis" J. Morris

Esther J. “Sis” Morris August 4, 1937-Dec. 18, 2022

Esther J. “Sis” Morris, 85, Altoona, formerly of Duncansville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday at Guardian Healthcare-Hillview. She was born in Carson Valley, the daughter of the late Malvin E. and Madeline (Shultz) Goshen. Sis is survived by a daughter, Esther Ruth Parsons of Lancaster; two step-daughters: Linda Gittoes of Friendsville and Janice Cavoto of North Wales; four grandchildren: Laura Morris, Keishawn Parsons, Amy Webster and Michael Gittoes; four great-grandchildren: Danielle, Jonathan, Nathan and Cameron; one great great-grandchild: Parker; a brother, Fred Goshen of Arkansas; a sister, Beverly Bowman of Lynchburg, VA and a sister-in-law, Patricia Goshen of Levittown. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Malvin, Jr., Allen and Richard Goshen. Sis was a 1955 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and a 1959 graduate of Lancaster School of the Bible. The Lord gave her a gift in music ministry that she enjoyed sharing throughout Blair County. She was employed as an offset printer for 30 years and also a caregiver for many people. Sis was a member at Puzzletown Road Bible Church and the Ladies Auxiliary at Blair Christian Home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023, 11 a.m. at Puzzletown Road Bible Church, 316 Puzzletown Road, Duncansville, PA 16635, with Pastor Jon Gross. Interment will be held at Alto-Reste Park at the family’s discretion. Arrangements are provided by E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 2309 Broad Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
