What I remember about George was that he played a mean (GREAT) first base. Looking back, though left handed, he reminded me of the former Pittsburgh Pirate First baseman Donn Clendenin (a right hander), both covered the bag so well and for those close plays at first both Donn and George would stretch "to the moon". If my memory serves me correctly George could/would do a full split stretch to enable the throwers' throw. Rest in peace George and may flights of Angels carry you to The Field of Dreams.
