Obituary For Harry Barton "Bud" Hann, Jr.
Harry Barton “Bud” Hann Jr, 92, of Presbyterian Village Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on April 29, 2023. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Harry B., Sr. and Gladys Arletta (Weaver) Hann. Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Janet Louise “Janie” Beckel who died on March 18, 2016, after nearly 60 years of marriage, and a sister, Dorothy Jean Hann. Surviving are his two children, daughter Nancy Lee (Stewart) McClelland, and son Harry Barton, III (Kathy) Hann; four grandchildren, S. Barton (Alissa) McClelland, Joshua (Stephanie) McClelland, Benjamin (special friend Jenna) Hann, and Justin (Karen) Hann; and four great-grandchildren, Camden, Adelyn, Sophia and Matthias McClelland. He was a 1949 graduate of Altoona Area High School. Harry started his career as a printer at the Altoona Mirror and then became one of the original partners of Alto Printing Corporation where he worked as a printer for 42 years, retiring in 1991. He was a United States veteran of the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Corporal and serving with the 1st Division, 18th Infantry Regiment. He was an active member of the Altoona Bible Church, serving on the Deacon and Missionary Boards. He was a former board member at Blair Christian Home and the Altoona Rescue Mission. Harry encouraged everyone in his life with the phrase “Keep looking up,” based on Colossians 3:2 which says “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023 and from 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral service Friday, May 5, 2023, at Altoona Bible Church, officiated by Pastor Stewart W. McClelland. Commitment with military honors will be held at Blair Memorial Park. Arrangements are being handled by E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc. Altoona, PA.
