Jeanne L. JohnJuly 24, 1927 – August 22, 2022Jeanne L. John, 95, Altoona, went home to be with her Lord, Monday at Graystone Manor at Bellmeade after an extended illness.Jeanne was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Benjamin F. and Stella J. (Stevens) Trout. On November 21, 1949, she married Vance L. John who preceded her in death on November 18, 1998.She is survived by four sons: G. Allen (Janet) John, Kevin A. (Nancy) John, Vance E. John and Timothy F. John all of Altoona; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.Jeanne was a 1945 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired from Lindy’s Automotive Warehouse as partial owner and from Proctor Silex as an assembly line worker.She was a very active member of Simpson Temple United Parish where she sang in the choir. Jeanne enjoyed gardening and sang with the Sweet Adelines for thirty years.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to in Jeanne’s memory to: Jaffa Shrine, 2200 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.Interment will be at Alto Reste Cemetery.Arrangements are by E.
