Condolences

My condolences to the family and prayers for God's comfort and help for all his loved ones. I am Thankful to have known Joe and considered him to be a friend. We had some very good conversations. I am glad I was able to speak with him but the last time was over a year ago. I was hoping to give him a call and wish him a happy new year but then I found out about his passing. So sorry that I delayed. When I informed Joe of my dad's accident a number of years ago, Joe lovingly paid my dad a visit while he was in the hospital. That meant so much to me. When I would send Joe a greeting card, he always responded back with a card or a phone call. His voice was always kind and understanding. I am really going to miss him and wish I would have gone to see him in person these past few years and for which I always planned and hoped to do but sadly never did. I regret that so much now. We might have had some philosophical differences about some things but did not let that get in the way of communicating with each other as friends, One thing I know is that Joe did love and care about others. In my belief system and written in a sacred text of which my faith is based, it is recorded; " Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not, knoweth not God; FOR GOD IS LOVE" (1John 4:7,8.....)KJB. There is more. Thank you my friend. Again my thoughts and prayers to Mrs. Silverman and all their so brilliant and successful children and grandchildren. I think Joe must be right about that genetic link but we can disagree about an illusion of free will. Joe must take full responsibility for the wonderful love and service he provided to others with his intellect, hard work and faithfulness. These character traits were used to serve and benefit his family, community, the medical profession, and patriotically for veterans. Yes, God (Love) bless you Joe and thank you.

Dr. Silverman was a dedicated practitioner of psychiatric medicine and his passing is a great loss to his profession and to our local community. He maintained many years of care across a wide spectrum of individuals, assisting them with some of their most difficult days with his gentle insight and knowledge. Much sympathy to his family and friends.
