Obituary For Levi L. Wance

Levi L. Wance June 8, 1932 – April 19, 2022 Levi L. Wance, 89, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday at James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. Levi was born in Gannister, son of the late Harvey “H.E.” and Laura (Garrett) Wance. On April 18, 1970, he married Addeline “Addie” E. DeRemigio who preceded him in death on August 25, 2007. Levi is survived by a brother, Oliver P. (Emily) Wance of Duncansville; nieces: Debra A. Free of Phoenixville, and Diane L. (Michael) Stinson of Blue Bell; and nephew, Mark A. (Donna) Wance of Hanover; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Richard Wance, Ralph Wance who was killed in Korea, Harvey Wance and Charles Wance; and sisters: Alice M. White, Agnes Quigley, Ann Tonelli, and Rebecca McIntire. Levi was a US Air Force veteran of Vietnam. He later retired from the US Air Force at Kessler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601 where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. by Pastor Mark Lingenfelter. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Levi’s memory to: St. Vincent DePaul Food for Families, 2201 Union Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.
