Obituary For Michael E. Rosen

Michael E. Rosen

March 5, 1963-February 28, 2026

Michael E. Rosen, 62, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday at UPMC Altoona after courageously battling a prolonged illness for several years. Despite the many challenges he faced, Michael met each obstacle with remarkable strength, determination, and resilience that defined his life.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Herbert M. Rosen and Gloria C. (Jacobowitz) Rosen.

On June 13, 1992, Michael married the love of his life, Lynn Vines. For 33 years, they built a life rooted in devotion, partnership, laughter, and deep family ties. Together they raised their son, TJ Clayton (Laura Bell), and their daughter, Hayley Rosen (Aiden Kowalczyk), who were the pride and center of his world.

Michael was fiercely devoted to his family. He leaves behind two beloved grandsons, Ezra and Graham Clayton, who brought him immeasurable joy. He cherished watching Ezra play baseball and was his proudest supporter on the sidelines. With Graham, he shared a special bond built on curiosity and connection, spending time learning about bugs, fish, and the wonders of nature together. Whether cheering at a game or exploring the smallest details of the world through his grandson’s eyes, Michael was fully present.

He loved his nephew deeply and valued his role as an uncle. He is survived by his nephew, Mark Anthony Rosen, and was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Rosen.

Michael was a high school graduate who earned his bachelor’s degree and built an accomplished career in managerial sales leadership. While many knew him through his success in the automotive industry, he was also well known and respected in the furniture business. Throughout his life, he held high-level management positions and was admired for his leadership, integrity, and tireless work ethic.

He previously served as President of Temple Beth Israel and was a member of the Free Masons, reflecting both his faith and commitment to his community.

Michael loved swimming and was an avid New York Yankees fan. Above all else, he treasured time spent with his family — especially his grandchildren, his five grand-dogs, and his beloved dog. His greatest joy was simply being surrounded by those he loved.

Michael will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, protective nature, and unwavering devotion. Even during years of illness, he remained a fighter — steady, determined, and deeply committed to his family. His legacy of resilience and fierce love will live on in all who knew him.

Friends will be received from 10:30-11 am, Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Temple Beth Israel, 3004 Union Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 am, with Rabbi Audrey Korotkin.

Arrangements are provided by E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.
