Patricia L. Beyer

March 1, 1930 – January 9, 2026

Patricia L. Beyer, 95, Altoona, passed away peacefully Friday at Graystone Manor surrounded by family.

Patricia was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Alton E. and Alverta L. (Myers) Cherry, Sr. On May 22, 1954; she married John R. Beyer who preceded her in death on August 11, 2015.

She is survived by two sons: John R. Beyer II and wife Kimberley of Hollidaysburg and Ronald B. Beyer and wife Leslie of State College; and five grandchildren: Ashley, Alyssa, Emily, Jaret and Erica.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Alton E. “Pete” Cherry, Jr. and an infant sister, Jane.

Patricia was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School.

She was a member of The Altoona Women’s Club, Friends of the Altoona Area Public Library and the Blair County Historical Society.

She was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Patricia enjoyed yearly family vacations to Myrtle Beach, cooking, and in her later years, watching Hallmark movies and playing Bingo with her friends at Graystone Manor. Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.

A funeral service will immediately follow at Noon with Pastor Timothy Guyer officiating.

Interment will be at Alto Reste Cemetery.
