Obituary For Patricia "Pat" A. Miles

Patricia A. “Pat” Miles

May 23, 1930-July 7, 2024

Patricia A. “Pat” Miles, 94, of Altoona, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Francis L. and Esther Marie (Dillon) McGuire. Pat married Robert E. “Bob” Miles on December 18, 1950 in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1998.

Pat is survived by three sons: Thomas F. Miles and wife, Sue and R. Scott Miles all of Altoona, Randy L. Miles and wife, Jan of Tyrone; a son-in-law: Matt Palmer and his wife, Gina of Monument, CO; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah L. Palmer; a brother, Ed McGuire and a sister, Dede O’Conner. Pat was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Pat was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School and retired as a salesperson from J.C. Penney, Company in 1992, after 25 years of service.

She was a member of Altoona Bible Church.

Pat enjoyed reading, having lunch with the J.C. Penney retirees and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 10 am-2 pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 2 pm, officiated by Pastor Stewart W. McClelland. Interment will be held at Blair Memorial Park.
