Obituary For Robert E. Hall

Robert E. Hall May 22, 1935 – October 26, 2021

Robert E. Hall, 86, Altoona, passed away Tuesday at UPMC Altoona after an extended illness. He was born in Altoona, son of the late John E. and B. Olive (Barrett) Hall. On September 15, 1962 he married Catherine R. Lantz. Surviving are his wife; two daughters: Jennifer L. (Brian) Wiegand of Berkeley Springs, WV and Amy J. (Larry) Kaple of Delaware , OH; a son, David E. Hall (Susan) of Saxonburg; a granddaughter, Maggie (Tyler) Holt, with whom Bob had a very special relationship; a great-grandchild Parker Holt; close cousins: Jack Camberg (Joan) and Irene Cobalt; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was a 1953 graduate of Altoona High School and was a US Army Veteran. He retired as Division Terminal Manager from Ward Trucking Company after 35 years of service. Bob was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Bellwood Beagle Club, Swiss Club, Unter Uns and Altoona Jaycees. He was a volunteer for the Altoona Area Public Library literacy program and coached Little League Baseball for many years. Bob enjoyed fishing, reading and Beagling, where he raised several field champions. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Providence Presbyterian Church, 2401 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 11 a.m. by Rev. Dennis Braun. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Bob’s memory to: Providence Presbyterian Church, 2401 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601 or Friends of the Altoona Area Public Library, 1600 5th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602.
