Sandra Kay Miller

July 29, 1957 – February 9, 2024

Sandra Kay Miller, 66, formerly of Altoona, passed away Friday at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh.

Sandy was born in East Meadow, NY, daughter of the late Billy Alexander and Fannie Mae (Robinson) Miller.

She is survived by two daughters: Shamecca Miller Gueye of Toledo, OH and Crystall Miller of Altoona; a son, Niheim Miller of Altoona; five grandchildren: Shyasia Miller, Shadiare Williams, Sharaya and Gaige Hill and Camri Woods; three great-grandchildren: Roman, Nylah, and Shiloh; a stepson, Sharif Timmons of Bronx, NY; sisters: Gwen Fells of NY, Carolyn Miller of NY, Sue Miller of Altoona, and Gail Miller of Altoona; a brother, Michael Miller; God-children: Shron, Travis and Tr-Tanisha; and many nieces and nephews.

Sandy was preceded death by a sister, Joyce Miller and her fiancé, Johnny Cobbs.

She was a graduate of Freeport High School in Freeport, NY and was a caring and compassionate nurse’s aide.

She loved writing, taking trips, doing crossword puzzles and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc., 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601 with Pastor Larry Weaver.
