Wanda J. Hawk

September 7, 1945 - May 13, 2026

Wanda J. Hawk, 80, Altoona, passed away Wednesday at UPMC Altoona.

She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Ealor and Dorothy Merritts. On December 17, 1965, she married Stanley L. Hawk, who preceded her in death.

Wanda is survived by a daughter, Kelly Hawk of Altoona; a son, Stanley L. Hawk, Jr. (Tina) of Altoona; step-daughters: Renee Bankert, Cindy Beauchamp, and Leisha Ott; grandchildren: Brandon, Ryan, Allison, Hunter, and Nichole; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Sheila Lynn Hawk; and a sister, Dorothy.

She was a graduate of Altoona High School and graduated from nursing school.

Wanda retired as Marketing Director for Silver Leaf Resorts and previously worked as an LPN at Altoona Hospital.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Altoona and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc. 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 6 p.m. by Pastor Tyler Pepper.

Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
