Obituary For William H. Wilt

William H. Wilt,96, of Martinsburg passed away Thursday at Homewood at Martinsburg.

Bill was born in Altoona, son of the late R. Harry and Maggie Mae (Barree) Wilt.

He married Linda Marie Donley October 9, 1965 and she preceded him in death on Sept. 27, 1999.

Surviving are two brothers-in-law: William H. Donley and wife, Ruth of Beaver Falls and Donald W. Donley of Aiken, SC; seven nephews: Gary A. (Peggy) Stitt, Larry D. (Kathy) Stitt and

Scott O. Stitt (Erica) all of Altoona, Barry W. Donley (Amy), Neil A. Donley, William B. Donley and Mark W. Donley (Carmella); six nieces: Joyce A. Henninger of Altoona, Deborah L. LaFever (Clint), Sheri Gibson (Bill), Tammy Brooks (Dana), Susan Galloway (Todd) and Beth Donley; great nieces and nephews: Nicholas, Lisa, Erin, Bryan, Tawnya, Meagan, Dennis and Shawn; cousins Dennis P. (Robyn) Barree, Donald W. (Adele) Barree and Robert D. Barree and their children: Heather Mannion, Mikaela Barree, John and Alex Barree. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Janet L. Stitt and her husband, Merle D. and a cousin Robert P. Barree.

Bill was a US Army Air Corp veteran serving during WorldWar II. He retired in 1992 as a mail handler with the United States Postal Service after 32 years of service.

Bill was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a member of American Numismatic Assoc.

He enjoyed gardening and collecting coins, books and DVDs. He was an avid Penn State fan.

Friends will be received from 11am until a Noon service, Thursday, August 6, 2020 at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc. 2309 Broad Avenue, Altoona by Pastor Jerry McCuller officiating. Interment at Alto Reste Cemetery, Altoona.
